Caps plan to try for a repeat

Description
With the Caps losing some of the roster from the Cup winning team, here are some moves and reasons I believe that would be best for the team:

1.) Samsonov- Samsonov killed it in the KHL and should get a chance to back up Holtby in the NHL. If he doesn’t perform well, the Caps would quickly go look for a veteran backup and sent Samsonov to the minors (pretty sure he can be sent down now) where he will get a chance to start and develop.

2.) Wilson- 35 points in 82 games and 15 in 21 postseason games. While the regular season stats aren’t the best, he was really up and down the line up for a while. But once the line of 8-92-43 was put together, the trio played fantastic in the postseason. If Wilson can grow on that 35 points and that line can play a full 82 games like they did in the playoffs, Wilson will be worth that contract. He also brings that tough fact to the game and he brings great energy to the team (yes I know he has had some questionable hits so no need to comment that). He is loved in DC and is a solid player that hopefully can grow on his career season.

3.) Davidson- I didn’t pick Davidson because I think he should be signed. I picked him because he is the type of D-men the Caps should be looking for. A guy that can fill in for a season until a younger guy can take over (Mainly Bowey and Johansen), has a decent number of NHL games under his belt, doesn’t cost too much, and is a decent player. It wouldn’t surprise me if Bowey started on the bottom paring at the start of the season and if he was struggling, they went after another D-men.


4.) Kempny- I know a lot of people won’t agree with the Kempny contract but I’ve read that 7-8 teams have called him so there is a lot of interested for him after a strong postseason. He has said that he wants to stay and now that Carlson is back, I’m sure Kempny would like to stay even more because of the great pairing they made in the playoffs. The 2.5 mil is really just to outbid the rest of the teams. If Kempny keeps playing like he did in the playoffs, the 2.5 mil would be worth it.

I think Samsonov will be better than Holtby one day but he will not be NHL ready off the bat. He'll need at least a 1 year in the AHL. Copley will be a fine backup.

Kempny and Wilson deal loo good to me.

I love Davidson but don't know if we need him. Djoos will definitely never be scratched again and Bowey is ready. If he wants to sign to be the #7 guy then sure.

Unfortunately, I am not sure if there are any teams left. However, you may be able to be an assistant or co-gm for someone who is not active. If no one wants to do that, I would let you be my assistant gm. https://discord.gg/BQVNtm Hope it works this time...
