Larkin 5 year deal in the 6 million range.
Matha bridge deal in the 4 million range.
Backup goalie 3 year deal in the 3 million range.

Trades:
Athanasiou to whoever (in this case Montreal as they need centers) for a 2nd round pick.
Svechnikov, Jensen and a 2nd round pick for Faulk and Geekie (Unite the Svechnikov brothers and grab Faulk. Geekie included here for center depth and chemistry with Rasmussen in juniors).

Canes pass on that deal. Faulk will be moved, but my guess it will be for a prospect and a LHD, or a package for a top scoring line winger.

In this trade, they get a good prospect in Svechnikov who can play right away in the NHL. Plus there is the connection with his brother. I added in Jensen as a defense replacement for Faulk, great value defencemen that can play in the NHL and be a good puck moving/skating defencemen. What then would the Canes take for a deal with Faulk going to Detroit? Would Nyquist and Athanasiou have to be added into a trade?
