Size Grit and Assets

Created by: rphedelson
Team: 2018-19 Minnesota Wild

Description
Trading away skill and finesse for a bigger, grittier team (and acquiring some assets along the way)

The reason the Wild struggle in the playoffs year after year is because they get pushed around. Adding Gudas & Reaves at the expense of speed and finesse is worth it to me.

Are we going back to the late 90's here? Trading skill for grit and size, maybe ask Edmonton how thats going. Or Anaheim, or Montreal's defence. Is this secretly Brian Burke? Cause its been proven that this sort of mindset won't let you have a good time.

Good lord, because if anything was apparent in the Winnipeg series it was that the Wild were too fast, yeah?

I'm one of the biggest proponents of the Wild getting bigger and nastier, but even I wouldn't consider a single one of these trades. Not to mention, Parise is not interested in moving his family to Vegas and he has complete control over whether or not he gets traded. Not to mention II, all 3 of your trades are completely out of whack value-wise. The Wild trade a LOT and get very little in return.

Speed and finesse are fun and exciting in the regular season, but when things button up come playoffs it's more important to have size and grit. You guys obviously don't watch much hockey, and that's OK. I'm glad to take comments from casual fans too.
