GMBots says thanks for thinking of the Buffalo Sabres in a trade.

GMBots says we can continue to discuss ROR becoming a Nuck. The discussion would have to be as follows:

1. No need for Nilsson. He did play well in Buffalo but that had more to do with the goalie coach and system.... The Sabres can find their backup net minder in the FA market where they do not have to give up any assets;
2. The conversation has to start with Tanev coming back to Buffalo;
3. The Sabres are ok with either the 1st Round Pick or Goldobin;

Counter offer from GMBots:

ROR

for

Tanev
Goldobin or 2019 First Round Pick

Me personally would not like taking Tanev away, BUT I would do that trade, especially if GMBens gets Dobson in draft. Lets make it happen! (I will edit it)

Thinking for Sabres.. thez should rather take Goldobin, they have not so good wing depth (noticable just Olofsson, Nylander, Pu) and use him right away and not wait another 3-4 years for winger to succeed..

No way to Tanev, Goldobin is not making up the difference. You'd have to hope that Vancouver is the worst team in hockey and that 1st become the first pick. Especially if you dont think the Sabres will compete next year (they'll certainly have giant holes up front after this), Tanev only has 2 season left. They could just wait till free agency if they need him that bad at that point. They could do much better for ROR

I prefer Goldbin over the pick....... I just wanted the Canucks to have the option.

You may be spot on about what they can get for ROR once JT signs..... the teams that miss out on JT may just be desperate enough to lose their minds.

I agree with both on you. Realistically Nucks do nothing and stick to their own players

I actually do not want to move ROR. I think he provides what the Sabres need most right now. A legit #2C that can take pressure off of Jack in the high leverage areas of a game while being a mentor to Mittelstadt as to how a player becomes a true #2C in the NHL. ROR does not have a NTC so the Sabres can look to move him at the deadline or next off season.

My play would be let the JT dust settle then see what teams are willing to offer..... if you do not get an overpayment keep him on the team.

I'm currently writing CFAGM post where I'm telling the honest opinion on ROR. Check that out later.

You can't put Loui on LTIR for a bruised ego.
