As a minny fan I say no to that trade. Minny has strength on the left and doesn't need another left handed player. Plus trading a top pair d-man for a prospect doesn't make any sense, nurse hasn't shown that ability to be a top pair guy yet but I do see it as a possibility.

2020 1st round pick could be added, but a prospect from Minny back?

Given Chai's track record, I think it's better for the organization if he does nothing.

LoL!!! how many games you watch him play?? LoL. That statement in itself is so ridiculous. He'll be there best dman next year. He was very close to being our best defenceman with all around skating, shooting, aggressiveness and defending. Starts all 3 on 3 action. Which I don't think dumba would. With the likes of suter. I wouldn't do this trade either. Just based on what were giving up. He'll be a lot higher end than dumba

Lets be honest here, I'm a fan of Nurse, but he will never be a 50 point defense man, we need a point producer in the back end, and too many LHD that are all similar. Have to pay to play. One for One Dumba is worth more strictly because hes a RHD that can put up point. So Dumba for Nurse+ Jones is similar value. A first for 2020 assuming the oilers make the playoffs would be a 15-30 draft pick, in return a A level prospect that is a year away from helping the team, balances out. We can't always over value our players and under value others.

After all of his atrocious deals you want him to keep making trades?

Matt Dumba 14G, 36A and a Plus 15 and 41 PIMS all while being 23 years old. Id say Dumba is already there. Nurse is 6G 20A and plus 15 and 67 PIMS. Nothing to scoff at but to say Nurse is going to be more high end is a bit of a stretch

Sure, debatable. Been wrong before. But how much longer has Dumba been in the league a hell of a lot longer, not to mention how much more successful wild was on the pp and what not than Edmonton. Thankfully we got rid of most of our coaches who were in control

Pretty funny. One season at 50 points acting like he does it on a regular basis lol

The career path between Matt Dumba and Darnell are similar if not the exact same. Dumba's first full season as a regular was 2015/16, same as Nurse.

    Dumba:

    15/16- 10G 16A 26pts Plus 1
    16/17- 11G 23A 34pts Plus 15
    17/18- 14A 36A Plus 15

    Nurse:
    15/16- 3G 7A 10pts minus 15
    16/17 5G 6A 11pts plus/minus 0
    17/18 6G 20A 26pts plus 15

The stats prove that Dumba is a more consistent player and he hasn't been in the league a hell of a lot longer. I understand people love their players on their own teams, but fact is fact, at the same age Dumba is a better player, and a player we need on the right side. So no he hasn't done 50 points on a regular basis, but he is trending that way. And is proving it, Darnell is still an unknown at this point.

Try from the 14-15 season. Not the 15-16 season. What about the 13-14 season? 2 more development seasons before Darnell was even in the N. Bc as far as I recall dumba drafted in 2011. Nurse 2013? Get as much as you want oh out of this. But you're one to buy high and sell low

Look at HockeyDB 13/14 he played 13 games... 14/15 he did play 58 games. So your right almost a full season. It is what it is.

Well, If he's trending in the right direction. Send the 10th to Minny bc they need cap space. Then go and use a dman to bring in a centre winger. Then we have 2 positions of Strength. Instead of creating 2 positions of weakness
