It's true, but if he's not badly hurt or genuinely sick, Price owes Habs fans an apology. No one should expect to make $6.5M and not even seem to give a rat's rear that their performance was not just below par, it was bottom of the league stuff -- .750 save percentages. That's not his D. That's him!!!!

I'm not sure Price owes Montreal fans anything after the way he's been treated. Those were some pretty nasty rumours involving his family at the beginning of the season, and I don't blame him for being short with the media after that. He still seems to be involved with kids programs whenever he has the chance, and at the end of the day what more do you want from a guy outside the rink?

Many are writing him off after 43 games at a 904 SVP, but have we forgotten 2012-13? 39 games at 905, only to follow it up in the next four seasons with 927, 933, 934, 923... I have faith he'll come back strong.

Price isn't gonna retire yet, but if we're talking about what would happen IF he did, then the Habs would be terrible. He's the only reason they've had some good years recently, or at least one of the only reasons, and the biggest reason. The problem with the Habs is that Price is too big a part of the team. If he's not playing good enough, the Habs aren't playing good. I'm talking about something different than the Isles and JT, different than the Sens and Karlsson. He's the most important guy to the team, so they'd be absolutely terrible if he just retired.

This is the worst thing that could happen to the Canadiens. This would get them to rebuild. There wouldn't be any reason to just trade for another goaltender or anything, they'd just rebuild, including trading Weber and Pacioretty. They'd trade for future pieces and play terrible season after season. That's what would happen if Price retired.

we still have to pay the Signing Bonus Money regardless if he plays, is injured or Retires and like 80% of his cap is signing bonus's making his Contract Buyout Proof (check the buyout calculator its 9-10 mill cap hit for 7 years thanks to signing bonus's )

We? I think Mr. Molson might have a different interpretation of that.

That is true if the Habs just say "take a hike." If he's injured and unable to perform, goes into rehab or simply leaves to go play in the KHL (remember Kovalchuk) and/or retires from the NHL, the Habs are not on the hook.
