Description
I’m actually kind of excited to rebuild. Rebuilding is the time to build up on young prospects to try to become a dynasty of a team for years to come. To start off, we have a similar type of player that can fit Anisimov’s role perfectly in newly acquired Victor Ejdsell. Ejdsell has over 30 points in over 40 games in the SHL. Ejdsell has Anisimov like size and plays a two-way game. Ejdsell still has work ahead of him in both zones, but he’s looking to be a mini Anisimov. Ejdsell is also fast and has nice hands/puck skills so he might be an upgrade over Anisimov (ya never know). Dylan Sikura hopefully can get a contract soon. We don’t need another Kevin Hayes type situation come August with Sikura so hopefully Bowman is really serious about getting him an entry level deal. Now an interesting player on there is Tim Söderlund. Söderlund was drafted recently in 2017 and had one of the goals in the WJC Gold Medal Game. Söderlund was a very effective penalty killer for team Sweden and one of the players that forechecked well by using his speed. Söderlund has comparisons to Viktor Arvidsson which is a very intriguing name to hear. Though Arvidsson mainly didn’t really break out huge until the 16/17 season when he was 24/25 years old, it may take Söderlund a little bit to start to be able to play in the top 6. The Hawks also want Henri Jokiharju to be a top 4 defenseman in the future and he’s looking to be one soon. He may be able to make the roster next season. His puck moving abilities are just what we need and also is having his best season in Portland. Jokiharju has over 50 assists and 8 goals and will definitely have an impact on the Blackhawks and their offense from the back end. Ian Mitchell is another player having a great season in Denver.

U know, there’s 1 thing the Hawks’ management did that was extremely dump that completely showed they were not ready for this kind of thing to happen to them-NMCs, and a lot of ‘em. I hope u can wait for 2023 when this rebuild can actually start!

I’m legit actually excited. I’m sick of having veterans everywhere on my team

I'd rather keep AA you can get so much for him. 1st and a prospect at least.

Wasn’t sure on the value of Anisimov if Abramov was in the return. Since Vitalii is starting to develop into one of Columbus’ better prospects

Seabrook has a NMC which means he'd have to accept a deal if it were to be made. I don't think he'd accept to go to Vancouver. That's even worse than staying on the Hawks for a rebuild imo.

Does he want to go home to play for a loser? It could happen, but I think even if Chicago sells off some parts and retool's they're still a lot closer to a Cup than Vancouver.

Hawks fans are going to have to come to grips with the idea that Hossa and Seabrook have limited market value. If a rebuild is to be triggered, it means getting top picks, which means being willing to trade Duncan Keith, Toews and/or Kane. The picks from either Kane/Toews and Keith, coupled with maybe one more year down in the dumps with the Habs and Sens, would put in place the next generation of greatness.
