I like all 4 of your LW`s. I like Danault but more as a 3rd line C. Not sure Plecky comes back to be a 4th line C. On the right side, I like your #2 and #3. A. Shaw is a lot of money at 3.9M per year to be on 4th line. I would try to move him. He still has value. Lehkonen is super smart on D side of puck but does not give much on offense. On D, I like D1. D2 can Petry be better on D side? and can Fleury step in right away next year to play top 4 minutes? Alzner plays like a #5, not his fault he was given a big contract. Juulsen, I am a fan and he will eventually move up to top four in a couple of years. Good drafting.

Montreal is drafting as high as 5th right now. Veleno isn't rated anywhere near there, and I have heard other center options closer. Even then, 5O.A. is still in the 2nd tier of talent and we should select the best available out of Svechnikov, Zadina, Tkachuk, Boqvist. I would even make a case for Hughes ahead of any of the centers... This is not a great draft for centers. Trade up using our 2nds and/or different Pacioretty trade.

Panthers are serious about Pacioretty, maybe Borgstrom + 2nd (32nd O.A.) + 1st (12 O.A. at the moment, draft best center available here, Veleno, Hayton, Lundestrom, Kupari)

Thoughts??

I keep telling people Tkachuk can play C. He is big and mean and goes where he wants around the net. We have plenty of wingers. Depending on Reilly or Valiev, we have potentially 3 good young d-men when counting Mete and Juulsen. Also, people keep forgetting Ryan Poehling. He is 1 to 3 yrs away from be a very good Centre for MTL.

IMO i think Veleno is going to be the steal of this draft, he has the size for a future first line center, excels at both sides of the ice, he is more of a playmaker but also not afraid to put the puck in the net and make everyone around him better.

I do like your idea about the Panthers trade but i do not see them giving up Borgstrom.
