Hi Oiler fan. You know your team best. Just wondering if signing the 30+ Demers to a long term contract is the best for Oilers. Seen what happens to Ference, Fayne late in their NHL careers. Just thinking there might be cheaper, younger still good NHL Dmen available in the summer. With the return of McDavid, the Oilers may not be drafting in the top 3, and might grab one of the many Dmen available available from 5 to 12 overall.
Like the fact you didn't make trades. Unless there is a real good deal out there, might be best to basically stick to the current team.

This. I think if they can get Chychrun in the draft that would be the best thing for them.

Jason Demers is only 27yrs old and played for Maclellan before. I think he is a reasonable target. As for the draft I am hopeful that whoever we draft isn't forced into the line-up this coming season that is why I didn't include one on the roster. I am hoping we land either a power forward or a dman with the pick. Thanks for your input, I really appreciate it. smile

Thanks for correcting me on Demers age. The draft class of 2015, I believe only have 3 NHLers...McDavid, Eichel, Hanifan and now junior Sprong. Unlikely many of this year grads are NHL ready. The two Finns would be AHL/NHL eligible and think Matthews is in the same situation. Looking forward to watching the Oilers at 2PM Eastern time today.
