Tavares and JVR to buffalo. Kane, Lehner, ROR and Bogosian out

Created by: GMTD
Team: 2017-18 Buffalo Sabres
Initial Creation Date: Feb. 7, 2018
Published: Feb. 7, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Trade away all of DATM losers for picks and prospects. With the additional cap space sign, JVR and John Tavares for next year.

Just day dreaming looking at trades that other people posted wondering if this could actually happen. Imagine if Tavares could re-ignite Moulson's career.
Trades
1.
BUF
  1. Bellows, Kieffer
  2. Greiss, Thomas
  3. Tavares, John
Additional Details:
Obviously John Tavaras will not be part of this this trade, I intend to sign him for $11,000,000 over 7 years.
NYI
  1. Lehner, Robin
  2. Nelson, Casey
  3. Pominville, Jason
Additional Details:
NYI need help on RW, defense and goal keeping. They give up a good prospect and plug all three holes with one trade. I am adding Tavares so I can insert him into a proposed line up.
2.
BUF
  1. Dunn, Vince
  2. Fabbri, Robby
  3. 2019 1st round pick (STL)
Additional Details:
The Blues get a player who is one of the best face off center men in the league, a veteran steady defense-man. Fabri is out for the season so they do not lose any thing this year by including him in the trade. The 1st round pick will be late pick so it may not be much of a lose
STL
  1. Gorges, Josh
  2. O'Reilly, Ryan
Additional Details:
Buffalo unloads $12,400,000 salary to make room for signing John Tavares. Buffalo also picks up a young defense-man, a 3rd line center and a pick.
3.
BUF
  1. Fleury, Haydn
  2. 2018 2nd round pick (CAR)
Additional Details:
Carolina picks up 2 LW for their push to make the playoffs.
CAR
  1. Kane, Evander
  2. Pouliot, Benoit
Additional Details:
Botterill trades away $6,400,000 cap with the intention of sign JVR during the off season. Moving these players will help the team to move closer to the 1st over all draft pick.
4.
BUF
  1. van Riemsdyk, James
Additional Details:
This is not a real trade at the dead line. Botterill sends Fasching for the rights to talk with JVR.
TOR
  1. Fasching, Hudson
Additional Details:
Botterill signs JVR for $6,000,000 for 7 years.
5.
BUF
  1. 2018 5th round pick (DET)
Additional Details:
this trade is made at the end of the season.
PIT
  1. Bogosian, Zach
Additional Details:
Pitt could use some help on defense for next year.

That is one of the most lopsided trades I've ever seen on the history of this site. A cap dump, RFA goalie and low level prospect for a superstar and one of our top prospects? Insanity.

Even so, that doesn't make sense at all for the Isles to do. I get what's trying to be done, but it's so farfetched

So the NYI have given up more goals than any team in the NHL, they need help at RW and defense, and you do not even read the comments and automatically give it is a poor grade because you failed to actually understand what was being proposed. LOL, how many stars do you get for not reading the post properly?

It has been said that John Tavares could get a chair to score 30 goals and maybe that is correct considering how many goals Moulson scored when he played with John. Pominville is not a chair, he plays on the worse scoring team in the NHL, Lehner gets no help from his defense, and Nelson is an adequate bottom 6 d-man. And you so it makes no sense when the window will close after this year on making the playoffs in the near future. Lehner alone may be worth the risk, but add in a RW who can score (and did when he was paired with Eichel) and d-man. maybe a different d-man (Beaulieu for example) but the value is there if you actually would look at the NYI needs and how this helps them. BTW you do not think Greiss is a dump going the opposite way?

Did you actually read the comments? John Tavares is NOT included in the trade!

Even without Tavares it’s still questionable

questionable maybe, but not ridiculous. It is only a fake trade that actually fills the needs of the islanders. Upgrade at GK, RW who can score with the right center and added depth at defense. So yes questionable.

Moulsen's career being re-ignited? It would be easier for Tavares to discover a cure for cancer or balance the federal budget.
