CGY
  1. Gallagher, Brendan
Additional Details:
As much as I hate to trade Gallagher I think he has value to the Flames. Not sure if picks need to be involved. Mtl loses goals and leadership but gains prospects in needed areas.

This is a clear rebuild move, and if the Habs are going to rebuild, Gallagher won't be the first one to go.

I like Gallagher, and while I think Calgary is a natural fit for him, IMO, I don't see Calgary giving up 2 top prospects. Montreal might not make the trade otherwise, but if you identified one of the two. . . . i think the deal would have more merit! I don't think that straight up for a pick Gallagher gets you better than a 2nd, so asking for a solid 1st round prospect, and a good 2nd round prospect looks like an overeach!

As a MTL fan I would ask for one NHL player like Bennett + top prospect like Valimaki... otherwise Keep Gally how as a great value.

It's a really tough trade to find the right value, but can definitely see it benefiting both sides. As a Flames fan, I would be pretty hesitant to give up both Valimaki and Dube, but I could see Valimaki making sense. Both sides would be dealing from a position of strength to address a position of weakness.

Valimaki was compared to Provorov a lot when he was drafted, so could be a good replacement for Sergachev.
