William Nylander is what Ronny Francis would be looking for, For Noah Hanifin nice job.

I figured the loss of Willy would need to offensive depth, plus Gardiner more valuable than Zaitsev IMO

Having Hanifan over Gardiner, hardly "fixes the D".

This unrelated to this post, but what do you Leafs fans think Connor Brown's trade value is. He doesn't seem to be getting rewarded, being stuck on the fourth line.

I am much less enthusiastic than the non-Leafs fans. It feels like a Hall-Larsson kind of trade to me. The team who gets the forward always ends up better off.

Also, Hanifin is another left-handed defenseman. If giving up an asset as valuable as Nylander, I would seek a RHD instead. Pesce, for instance, although I'm not sure the trade value is fair.

Leaflet. Despite comprising 3.3% of the teams in the NHL.60% of all Dman trades on this site are to the Leafs. No matter how little term is left on the contract, the side the Dman plays or how poor the Dman, it's alway going to cost the Leafs Nylander at a minimum.

Rewarded for what? Hustling? Leaf fans love the lunchbucket types like Hyman and Brown but their ceiling is the 3rd line. I like Brown on the 4th line because there he is actually valuable. Higher in the lineup he isn't.

If you're going to trade Gardiner to Chiarelli , at least bend him over like the rest of the league.
