PAC'ching Vegas 2

Created by: carlcataclysm
Team: 2017-18 Vegas Golden Knights
Initial Creation Date: Jan. 11, 2018
Published: Jan. 11, 2018
Salary Cap Mode: Basic
Description
Vegas gets patches who will improve their scoring depth and will be a good fit, he will play top 6 minutes and find his scoring touch again on a High production Golden knights offense. MTL gets 2 good young players that can contribute to their team right away as well as 2 picks to turn into prospects or use as trade capital.

The 2nd trade is a cheap trade for a veteran on D, Georges isn't going to wow anybody but he is a gritty tough defensive D man that blocks a ton of shots and doesnt get hurt. he is a perfect 6th or 7th defense man for the playoffs

I’m not all that familiar with Vegas but some buddies tell me they need more of a identity on the bottom six, not top six. I don’t know if they need Pacioretty, but they certainly could use some reinforcements because they have a real chance at a cup run this year.

MTL won't do that deal unless a 1st is in there as well and that 1st is going to be between 25-31 come seasons end anyways so it's a LATE 1st.

Exactly. Frankly even if it is a 1st, its not enough. The players involved are not what MTL needs and are far from prospects anymore. Also Miller is one of Vegas's only good RH dman. I don't see them moving him.

Any trade for Pacioretty will have to involve prospects and the only ones of interest would be guys they drafted in the 1st round last year.

MTL is not going into full rebuild, they want a 1st but are not going to get it for PAC with his recent production. These two players are players that will fill holes in MTL roster while giving them prospect as well. If not miller you could plug in stoner, merril,, sbisa they have a lot of options at d. MTL isn't going to want players in this deal that need to develop. I have seen no signs that they are stripping down and ready to rebuild. they are retooling which means using your stale player to change him out for more depth.

I'm not going to argue semantics with you. Neither of us are real GM's. You can tell me this offer makes sense and MTL will do this and MTL will do that. All I know is If I'm MTL, I would not do this.

Since when is this an argument? I thought it was a constructive discussion, what your proposing make MTL a worse team in the short term. It doesn't seem to me that they are looking to do so unless they get players that will be able to help next year. I could see them packing it in for this season but not beginning a rebuild.

Its just a figure of speech. Not an actual argument. squinty smile

Anyways I gave you my piece and I explained why I wouldn't do it. (if I was in MTL's shoes.)
