We need to keep as many of our draft picks as possible. Our farm system lacks depth, so trading two high picks and a good prospect in a “go for it” effort makes ZERO sense. So what exactly are paying our high end back up goalie, high end defensive prospect, and 1st round pick for? Hjalmarsson has been brutal all year, Duclair really isn't that good, and Wedgewood is a back up at best. Besides getting rid of Orpik's contract, theres nothing in this for Washington.
Hjalmarsson is a mojor upgrade to orpik
grub our high end backup goalie could get us a 2nd and a non nhl prospect .........
and a high end d prospect that couldnt make this team for the next 5 years.........
orlov
djoo
luca
thats the lhd for the next few years
nisk
carlson
bowey
hobbs
thats the rhd for the next few years
that top d prospect**** right?
Hjalmarsson is on a terrible team he is a 3x champ with a ton of upside
Duclair is a solid player going threw a rough patch kind like bura goat who currently is on the 4th line............but you have no clue what a goalie value is in the nhl
