Why would anyone want Jordan Staal and his 6m a year? Carolina can't give him away and you want to give Canes a first rounder? 6m can be spend very easily in free agency and much wiser without giving any assets away.

i think he's worth it esp on a team that could use a player like him....car could maybe retain some sal but he's still a good player

A player like him? He's a 40 point guy a year. He (and I don't blame Jordan) certainly has not lead Carolina to any success. Just saying 6 m a year can spent a in better ways. Geez, the draft pick will probably be top 5.
