Taking Backes back would be a huge step backwards - we've been slowly ridding ourselves of contracts like that, and by next year we're down to just one.

My ask would be declined but probably something like DeBrusk + Studnicka + 2019 1st + 2019 2nd for Tarasenko, and if you insist on involving Backes, a lot more.

Give DeBrusk's shooting percentage this year to Tarasenko and he has 24 goals.

Best option - forget about him. Cost way to much, problematic for the cap. Blues unlikely to move him. Look elsewhere.
