you are 6.5 million over the cap and would have no way to pay barzal next year.

this is why these perfect scenarios dont work

they also dont work because of the events that follow.
for instance if the trades dont happen odds are the oilers dont draft JP probably look at a Dman there instead
no gaurentee they use that pick for barzal either.

hind sight is 20/20 might as well go back and say well if the oilers drafted kucherov instead of RNH as well.
