Description
If we get stuck with that 7.5 and can not trade it away.......it will be tough to make moves. I really don't think Howard will get moved with his M-NTC and then with the inconsistency of Mrazek as of late. Bridge deal for a few players giving them a bit of a raise and saying perform or adios! Wings get a bit tougher here too. Also adds a couple rightys. Still room to make a trade to improve D with just under 3m cap space. I think this is pretty realistic. Not sure if you could get Weise or Martin at those prices though. Any insight?

I gave you a 5. I think Matt Martin could land back home in Detroit (Windsor boy) for right around that price. His stats aren't great but he fits needs that the wings have up front. I agree Howard doesn't move. No one wants a question in net at $5M. The price for Dale Weise is close, but I think they could get him for slightly less and I would hope the Wings wouldn't approach him. There are better options for the money. I think if your looking at Patrick Eaves, the Wings would resign Miller for the same dollar amount. Both are very similar in style of play and both seem to be injured all the time. I think the D is the key. We need an upgrade. Maybe move Smith for a pick from Toronto and sign a Kris Russell as a UFA? Overall though, this is a decent roster.

I just think our Defense needs more work than that. You are essentially replacing Quincey with Ouellet.

I brought in Eaves and Weise for some right handed shots. Miller or Eaves is a wash in terms of skill I think aside from Eaves having a hard shot. Weise and Martin bring in some physical play that we lack. I agree we for sure need some upgrade on defense. I'm not really sure if we can realistically move enough pieces to bring in what we actually need. I don't really feel like any of the UFA's are worth the money that they'll get else where. I would love to package up a deal for Lindholm or Vatanen but I'm thinking Anaheim finds a way to sign them both.

Remember that I have kept all of 13's contract here. This was to see what we could do if we can't trade his cap hit and still improve...or so I think we would.
