getting D-men who can play up to their contracts, rather than spending 10mill on meyers and kulikov to play low pairing minutes. getting a quality backup for a deep playoff run along with two solid d-men that are cheaper and give relief on cap for signing Laine and CO.
dont know much about WPG and who they have to sign i just know kulikov is not worth almost 5 million and re-signing meyers could be costly when Laine and Connor have to be signed as well
