I like JVR but a top 10 pick for a guy who will be a UFA in 2 years. Might be to much for Canadians.
Why get rid of Hunwick? It's not like his 1.2m contract has to go due to cap reasons.

Sorry, didn't clarify, Hunwick would be a trade deadline deal. Other thing I've been pondering is if we could somehow get Kerby Rychel out of Columbus if we offered them some right wing prospects and took Tyutin for some cap relief.

Personally I would stay away from Rychel. He does have potential, but seem like him and his father seem like too much trouble to have on my team.
The Leafs are little weaker and right wing prospects than left wing, especially when you consider Babcock likes right handed shots on the right wing and left handed shots on the left wing.
Lupul, JVR, Greening, Komarov, Soshivov, Leipsic, Linberg, Johnson, Tishakov. That could the Leaf/Marlies LWs next year.
Again, an opinion....don't take players just for cap relief from other teams. It sends a bad message to your players. If the Leafs are building a team concept of their 50 pro players, right now I would stay away from high priced UFAs and certainly any RFAs from other teams.
