Description
With all the Kessel rumors, gotta think the Pens would jump on the opportunity to move him for a top 4, right-handed defenseman. Maatta is expendable with the JJ signing and eventual Oleksiak re-signing, and Jarry would be a tempting piece for the Hurricanes.

In return, the Pens get the aforementioned Justin Faulk, who would solidify our back-end. Jeff Skinner could thrive playing with Crosby or Malkin, and wouldn't be a huge downgrade from Kessel.

Finally, sign Duclair to a fair contract for depth, and the Pens are now a more balanced and complete team.

yep that's the problem with it, kessel is worth moderately more than the pick and skinner on his own, kessel has term at a reasonable rate, skinner is a rental. Maybe if they take out jarry or make the canes add in an additional second it would be closer to fair value, but at that point I don't see how the deal is beneficial for the teams where they are right now(why would the canes want to give up multiple decent picks, and why would the pens want picks. pens are more of a win now team, canes are closer to a rebuilding team)

Change the 3rd incoming to a 1st, and add Hagelin to the outgoing pieces and you may have a deal

ya thank god some of you are not pens gm. faulk = letang offensive d man not good at rest of game so no need want or desire for him on the pens. watch a game before you propose these trades.

skinners value is less than the canes want for him. he is a rental and will get jvr type money 5 years 7 million. Jr would not give jarry in brassard trade why loose him as a throw in.

Maatta is not expendable with jj signing. JJ is a 5th d right now until he proves himself after a terrible year last year.

kessel for skinner nope kessel at 6.8 million and proven chemistry with geno way better than a ufa who will get 5 @ 7 million kessel>>>>>> skinner.

that leaves jarry for a third that's easy hell no from the pens a former 2nd round pick that is developing very nicely.

those wanting to dump hags remember he was coming off a broken foot last year and is a huge piece on the pens PK. yes he is over paid by about a million but he is also in last year of deal. he can still fly on skates.

Skinner COULD thrive with sid or malkin or we could keep kessel who plays well with malkin and let sid go with Guentzel and Hörnqvist maybe try sprong there to.

Duclair is an attitude self absorbed kid who 2 teams have already given up on he makes us worse.
