Hartnell has an ugly contract term wise. He's played a rough and physical kind of game his entire career. I'm worried that his body is going to start to break down

As of right now yes they do. they would have to miss the playoffs the next 2 seasons to have their 2017 second round pick go to Toronto

That being said these moves aren't great. Hartnell contract is an albatross and Russel is overrated, very small for a defensman and looking for over 5 million. No thank you.
PLus it would take a heck of a lot more than Cole and porter and erixon to get him.
