If the hawks trade saad it better be for a big package. Hawks have no need for Nuge. Schmaltz is a good 2C. Anisimov needs to go. 7 million is a lot for dumba. I know he’s really good but wow.

As far as the amount for Dumba, I tend to over pay in theory (aka posting on sites/blogs) because I think underpaying looks like you're trying to cheat the cap.

Not against your opinion on Saad. My theory is that the Hawks are weak at C and that Schmaltz isn't proficient enough at the dot to play the position. I prefer my C's to be nearer 50% than 40%. Again, just my preference.

I like some stuff and in theory it makes sense. Mcdavid finally gets a speedy winger and they both cost the same and have the same term! Chicago gets a 2C that can win Faceoffs. Saad for Nuge is great because youre right Schmaltz isnt where he needs to be on face offs but the only way to get better is by doing it and not being a winger. He's not gonna magically be a 50% face off guy after this off season but if you just get a new young player to take that role over hes not going to learn. Dumba trade is unrealistic imo. Trading to a rival? Doubt they do it. I'd rather keep the early pick and be ready for the future. Murphy is probably worth a second/third but id rather trade for a player than a pick. I wouldnt mind getting grub but he will want more than that and probably wants to be a starter somewhere. Also if we get the right to Grub, why sign Khudobin at all (who will want more than 1.2 mil). If we can sign Roussel to 1.5 then so can Dallas. I'd rather have a young guy from within or bring back Wingels for that much. Overall it does make sense but I think the time for trading picks/prospects for "veteran" pieces is over for the Blackhawks, its a youth movement now.
