I know I’ll get a lot of hate for this but I’d rather not trade for Karlsson and go after JT or another big name in the 19 offseason. Now if he shot left, that would be a different story. But I still think another prospect would have to be thrown in. I heard they are trying to offload Ryan and his huge cap hit with him.

I can't imagine any scenario where STL takes Ryan, or TBL or any other well constructed contender - If OTT is doing that, anchoring the value of their biggest asset and reducing the possible suitors, then this will be case study for terrible negotiation.

But yeah this trade doesn't make any sense for the Blues - it wouldn't be fun watching how either EK or Pietro handle a big cut in ice time, because one would get it.
