Description
It could either go 1 of 2 ways for the leafs at the deadline (as we all already know) with their pending UFA's. Realistically speaking do you see this team beating Boston or Tampa in the 1st round? Can we make a deep playoff run with this current roster+depth acquisitions at the deadline? I do not see any real sense in keeping JVR for a few playoff games and then losing him to free agency. I do not think we will be able to afford him past this season so if we can trade him for something of value it may be worth it. if it is for a measly 2nd round pick, might as well keep him for the long haul. However, maybe a trade with Carolina where his brother is at, straight up for one of their top defense prospects makes sense for both sides? Carolina gets a top scoring forward with a real chance @ resigning him because he may want to play on the same team as his brother. Toronto add a top D prospect to their pool. Same deal with Bozak & Komarov.

Bigger and bigger mate. You can probably get Faulk for JvR if he resigns, or if you look at my thread, I went after Ellis

Yeah I seen it, it'll take a lot more to get Ellis. I don't want Faulk if you're getting him. Should go after Carlson instead then.

Think so? I feel like a UFA for a UFA next year plus a couple things should do it. Maybe a cond first rounder if Ellis resigns, but for Carlson, I cant see WSH doing that. They need defence for another cup run
