Description
After doing more research, and getting feedback from other people around the analytics community, I have changed the deadline deals the Rangers could make.
Trades
1.
NYR
  1. Nylander, William
  2. 2018 2nd round pick (SJS)
TOR
  1. McDonagh, Ryan ($2,350,000 retained)
  2. 2018 4th round pick (NYR)
Additional Details:
This could 100% be a one-for-one deal. However, you have to take into the account that Ryan McDonagh with 50% salary retained is absolutely ridiculous. The Leafs get a #1 defenseman for $2,350,000 for the next two playoff runs thus why a second rounder is also part of the return.
2.
NYR
  1. Conacher, Cory
  2. 2018 1st round pick (TBL)
  3. 2019 2nd round pick (TBL)
TBL
  1. Nash, Rick ($3,900,000 retained)
Additional Details:
The Tampa Bay Lightning were already filthy and tier 1 cup contenders. Adding a two-way dynamo like Rick Nash only solidifies the Lightning as cup favorites. Would be a perfect fit on the 3rd line with Kunitz and Paquette. And for everybody crying that Rick Nash wont bring back a first, Martin Hanzal brought back a first and a second and Rick Nash is a much better player than Hanzal.
3.
NYR
  1. 2018 1st round pick (WPG)
  2. 2019 2nd round pick (WPG)
WPG
  1. Grabner, Michael
Additional Details:
Michael Grabner is on pace to score 25+ goals for the second straight year. He would be a much needed upgrade to an ailing Jets PK. His insane speed, ability to PK, and high shooting percentage will undoubtedly bring back at the very least a late first rounder.
4.
NYR
  1. 2018 5th round pick (SJS)
  2. 2019 7th round pick (SJS)
SJS
  1. Desharnais, David
Additional Details:
Desharnais is putting up solid 3C production and will help the Sharks alleviate the loss of Joe Thornton.
5.
NYR
  1. 2018 3rd round pick (EDM)
  2. 2019 2nd round pick (EDM)
EDM
  1. Holden, Nick
Additional Details:
Both the NYI and NJD have fleeced the Oilers in recent years, so this time its NYR. This would be a typical Chiarelli move and I would not be suprised at all to see something like this happen.

I'd be thrilled with all of these. Though each is a slight overpayment

The Holden deal is a complete wildcard - we could fleece a shitty GM like Chiarelli or we could run into a good GM like Chevy and get a 4th back...

Didn’t say DD will replace Jumbo but will alleviate the pain caused down the middle by his injury

I wanted to make that second a first in the McD deal, but didn’t want all the hate from non Ranger fans on here.

Fair, but I think there are other centers out there that would do a better job than DD to replace thornton. I think they're some teams in the playoff race that would spare a 3rd or 4th for holden just for some depth (though I do not think he's been that great- playing with mcd is going to make anyone look better than they really are)
