Pretty good ideas. Habs have a difficult time ever giving away draft picks, especially #1s. I don't mind giving it away, but you'd need lottery protection. A team this "goalie oriented" is only ever a crease crasher away from seeing Price in the ICU.

The forwards are strong and the D is weak, though I assume you plan to draft Dahlin, Boqvist and/or Dobson.

No way we give away the first overall pick of the 2021 draft . We are gonna be one year after drafting Alexis Lafreniere first overall . i already have the Almanach ( Back to the future , Documentary)

I don't think that package lands you Nugent-Hopkins. There's nothing good in that package for Peter Chiarelli. Think about it, if he doesn't win by 2021 he's probably fired anyways. Just no incentive to do a deal like that when he's trying to make the playoffs and chase a cup.

I think it would take a Patches or Galchenyuk to get RNH

I'd say Stepan is a decent and recent comparable trade.
7th overall and a D prospect drafted later in the first round, mitigated by Raanta also going to Arizona.

That means Montreal's 1st this year (as long as it is top 10) and Juulsen for RNH and something else (ballpark). The rest is overkill and it's an off season trade so we know the exact position of the pick first.

Rather than have both sides add, just make this a cap space move and leave Byron, Shaw, and the 3rd out of it.
If you want to make it a bigger deal, adjust accordingly around that base.
