I personally think the Ducks should prioritize a defenseman over a Forward, but if they were to go after a Forward, this seems around what the deal would be.

Habs could add Benn. Cheap, puck moving bottom pair defenseman whose salary could be buried almost entirely in the minors if needed.

The thing is, and this isn’t a knock on Benn, I feel the defenseman would need to be a proven top 4 Defenseman. This is becuase Randy Carlyle consistently plays Kevin Bieksa and he isn’t going to play Jordie Benn over Kevin Bieksa, because he is enamored with Bieksa.

I noticed it. I don't get why they don't play Montour with Fowler. Benn would still be an upgrade over Beauchemin though

It’s because they don’t want to play Beauchemin and Bieksa on the same pairing. Ideally, they scratch Bieksa or Beauchemin and play a kid like Megna, Welinski, or Larsson.
