Description

Since the Pens are supposedly shopping Letang.

Pens get a shutdown 3rd line center they've been looking for. They also get a shutdown, shot blocking defencement and a big bodies prospect in McCarron. Add to that salary retention and a unprotected 1st round pic in 2019 and I think it can work out!

Our defense is suddenly a little faster and improves in transition play and PP with Letang. Ian Cole is simply depth move and salary dump since the Pens are trying to get rid of him.

Letang to Montreal makes absolutely zero sense, You already have both Weber and Petry on the rightside unless MB moves Petry trading for another RD like Letang makes no sense at all.

Habs used up their "D man coming back from injury and still being good and durable" card on Markov.
Letang had more serious issues and I honestly wish him the best, but it's not something I want to take a chance on. At best I'd consider it after he's been back for a while.
