Marner is going to stay and the Woll extension suggests that he will be their starter this year in my opinion. I think also takes them out of the running for that top tier of free agent goalies.

I started by trading for Ross Colton. The Avs are trying to shed some salary, so its possible they aren't interested in also having Jarnkrok, but Jarnkrok is the kind of guy a lot of teams would want, I think he could be traded for something at least. Then the new Utah HC eats some salary and gives up some of their insane cache of picks to get an extra 1st this year in the top 25. I'm imagining them using it to move up a few more spots or in another deal but I think it makes sense for them to deal from their insane collection.

Dumping those guys gave me almost 20 million in cap space to play with so I paid Montour to be a top pair guy and run the PP, and then Demelo who I think is like a poor mans Chris Tanev and should fit perfectly with Rielly. Then despite the Leafs apparent commitment to Woll, I still would like to see them bring in 2 veterans to back him up and have a security blanket if/when he gets hurt. If/when Woll goes down, the Leafs could do worse than running Lankinen and Driedger if Hildeby isn't the guy who comes in.
