Description
necas for byram makes complete sense buffalo has to many LD and they would trade byram before power or dahlin. buffalo needs scoring and necas will get more icetime with them. canes strengthen the d core for the future byram morrow slavin nish will be an elite d core for years to come with fensore and hemiosalmi in the system. canes still dont fix there 2c problem but they will have the cap space next year and better free agent class to find one. Overall, I see this as a great offseason for the canes. tanev is a glue guy but he is 34 so you sign him to a 1 year and we should load up on russians to make sure nish comes over next year lol.

I think canes would look at buffalo’s young forwards over another long term LD

I like Byram but don’t think this makes sense for canes. They already have Slavin and Nikishin long term on left side. Would be similar to BUF situation with another lefty.

Also I think Byram is more valuable than Necas.

Just wondering....would you rather have Middlestadt or Necas?

I also think I'd be fine with a Slavin/Nikishin/Byram left side long term. why not?

Mitts. He can actually play center and is more well rounded. Also the whole Necas not wanting to be here situation makes it hard to want him over Mitts even if he’s probably more skilled or offensively gifted.

There are definitely worse things but long term it seems like a waste of cap space. You’re probably going to have to take a hit elsewhere in the lineup and having 3 strong LDs when at least one of them will play substantially less and less impactful minutes just doesn’t make sense to me.
