Just making the money work with the goaltending. I like him a lot as a player, but if 4X4 is real, that feels a half mil too high and a year too long.

It's probably accurate because Detroit will have to outbid other teams for him.

It’s been Yzerman’s M.O. in free agency for his top targets. I would have described the Chairot, Copp, Compher contracts the same way.
