I like Gibson more than most Devils fans, I think. But I don’t think I would move a key roster piece for him if there is no salary retention. At full salary, it’s going to be a price Ducks fans won’t like. This is why I think Gibson will only be moved if he asks to do so.

Kakko and Trouba (without retention) as a package are probably worth a second and a fourth. I wouldn't include Vaaks, let alone Frankie, in that deal.

I don't see the point of trading Gibby if it costs us a second (especially pick #35!). Marino's contract expires the season that I'd expect this roster to be competitive.
