Letang yes, Neal, no.

Habs have no choice but to add the francophone dman especially that he is a puck moving one that we need desperately so Im pretty sure we'd be all over that. I;d be ok with it too even if Letang gets injured a lot. Neal however, we shouldn't pursue because we are not a playoff team therefore adding rentals makes no sense.

Ya. I thk Pens fans would probably hate this, but Petry is really underrated, I mean he is no Letang, but he's a legit higher end two way RD on a better contract.

Byron added to their bottom six would solve some issues.

I mean, whatever additions people have to make on either side, that's fine, but on the surface it has some merit, regardless of it's impossiblilty for intagable factors.

thanks for the input

Might need to add a bit more for letang however it is irrelevant... Pittsburgh’s defence is pitiful and they are definetly not looking to trade their number one guy while they are cup contender. Neal makes sense but a lot has to improve for the habs before they do more patch work instead of rebuilding

Ok lets say for example that all parties waived their NMC's and MTL added a 2nd rounder and a prospect in De La Rose? MTL inching a bit more to make up for the fact letang is the better player, even though he is injury prone and way more expensive.

Also, a lot of people overlook byron like he is our 4th line plugger or something. He is hands down along with Gallagher one of the Habs best players night in and night out. Gives great effort every game and creates havoc on the forecheck because he is ridiculously fast. I know he is small and what not but he is a legit top 9 that can play up and down the lineup and fit in nicely. Literally the only thing against him is his size but he makes up for it. He migth be 5'9 or whatever but he goes to the net plays rough/hits like he is 6'0.

Just thought I'd throw that in because I see a lot of people adding him in like he's a throw in. He's not, he's the kind of player that you never trade. At his salary and contribution, unless someone really overpays, trading him will never be worth the return they'd get. In this case, since Letang is a hometown kid and a very good dman, Habs would be more inclined to add him in.

I agree about Byron

He's a excellent bottom six player. Underrated for sure

Honestly, pens should use him top six with Malkin and Kessel in this scenario
