The rumor/reporting is that Ullmark turned down a trade to the West Coast at the trade deadline, and Los Angeles can't really afford a trade which adds $5 million in cap to next year's roster when the Kings have only $19.9 million in cap space and nine -- count 'em, nine -- open roster slots including Quinton Byfield's new deal, so I don't see this one happening.

If only Rob Blake's job security allowed him to throw in Pierre-Luc DuBois, then you could throw in Morgan Geekie . . . but then your cap situation would be out of control.

I have a recurring nightmare that Boston trades Ullmark to LA for PLD and a 2nd round pick. Under that circumstance, I think LA would give him the extension that would make him look twice. Then I wake up, notice my sleep score isn’t that good and my stress level popped up for some reason

That said, i think the Bruins are going to offer Lindholm 7 years, 8.5M AAV. Letting it be know through Friedman that he’s their #1 offseason priority is just the start
