Goaltending situation here is a disaster and you're limiting yourself to a 22 man roster.

I mean the Kings just re-signed Rittich for 1 more year at 1M so he's pretty much locked in to be 1B again.

With the emergence of Portillo this season, I dont think the Kings should be going all in and giving up 2-3 assets for a top 15 calibre starter. Just gonna have to make do with the 1A/1B again.

Welcome to CapFriendly! Sometimes, it's not too friendly.

I think that the Chychrun ship sailed at the trade deadline. I don't see spending our first-round draft pick on an expensive LD rental. I'd rather use the money to re-sign Viktor Arvidsson in an effort to provide a quality productive veteran (him or Kevin Fiala) for Pierre-Luc DuBois; failing that, I'd prefer to re-sign Blake Lizotte and use the left-overs to add a 14th forward.

Although it may not constitute progress, I'd stick with the top-6 of Byfield - Kopitar - Kempe and Moore - Danault - Arvidsson/Fiala. Having DuBois improve dramatically on his first season with the Kings (especially if we can get him at least one quality winger) should be a sufficient advance on the offensive side of things.

Craig Smith is an interesting idea for a bottom-6 forward that I haven't seen anyone suggest so far.

The Chychrun to LA ship will never die. I imagine the Kings (and Jakob) would be interested in extending him beyond just next season. That left side desperately needs some mobility and playmaking, I cant take another season watching our RD get pressured, forced to throw it around the net to the LD, and then see them toss it up the boards to no one. Whatever it takes to get Englund out of the lineup.

If RV is taking a VERY team-friendly deal, I wouldnt say no to taking him back, but his injuries are a serious concern. Best asset is availability. Not adding skill to PLD's line if he's not on it most of the season.
