Well, but for that package it would be almost foolish not to take Marner. Maybe a third team could be interested in taking over part of his salary for a few prospects/picks to make it work for the cap space.
Marner is a heck of a player, that could boost the Kings goalscoring immediately

The Kings need to reup Byfield, will lose Roy, and don't have any goaltenders, with what money exactly do they make this work?

Marner is worth far more than this pathetic offer, Plus the LAK can't afford his $10,903,000 cap hit next season.

LA declines. Only because the money doesn't work. If the Kings had in mind they were making that trade strictly as a rental and were not going to resign Marner then great that works however at 10.9m AAV it doesn't work. Somehow some way 50% would have to be retained on Marner but without that 50% retention Kings definitely can't afford Marner and fill out their roster.
