I know it says "any team" under the Edmonton trade b u t, Edmonton would decline that deal if offered to them since we have Broberg who we need to play in that role

Why would Stamkos sign at the beginning of the season with a team rebuilding who isn't sure to enter the playoffs? On top of that he comes to Montreal to pay an insane amount of income taxes. The only way you get alaye like that is at the trade deadline if we have chances of playing in the playoffs and giving assets for the player. In that case you'd have more chances of seeing Crosby in a Habs jersey, if they aren't playoff eligible and we are. That''s also why Hughes isn'T going to sign a 7 million doolar player till he sees what Dach is going to bring to the table next year.
