Description
Canucks new system is speedy and aggressive. Sedins are getting played less because they are slower than the competition understandably as they're 37 years old.

Instead of crappy burmistrov Id rather canucks go out and sign a new center allowing the Sedins to set him up as he's a sniper. Plus it allows for a faster center which sedin is no longer.

This move keeps Vanek as the revolving player with Virtanen if may be. But for now IMO Virtanen fits the system better.

Baertschi Horvat Boeser is the top line

Gagner Granlund Virtanen/Vanek

Daniel AA Henrik

Eriksson Sutter Dorsett is the shutdown line.

Very nice depth throughout the lineup

Is it just me than thinks this post makes absolutely no sense. You are suggesting that Henrik Sedin who is the best centre and playmaker in the Canucks history and potential hall of famer to switch to wing in his last season in the NHL to let Athanasiou be his centre. If you are the coach or GM that makes this move then you will lose the entire team of players and fan base and will be looking for a new job and career.

Also can you explan how the Canucks acquire Athanasiou without giving up any compensation to Detroit?

laugh laugh Come on dude? That's what Detroit is offering, How's this a legitimate offer sheet Detroit matches that easily. Holland stated that he will match any thing in the $2 million to high $3 million range you'd need to offer $4+ million for Detroit to not accept then you're looking at 2018 1st round pick+2018 3rd round pick and Vancouver is a bottom dweller and wouldn't give those picks up.

IF they offer 1.9 mil the Wings will match. The Nuks would be doing the Wings a favor, as that is what they offered and still have on the table. He wants 2.5 million and to play more, which a new coach may give him but the Wings can always match.
