Description
Saw this post from SmoothMcCrimmonal and thought it was interesting, and wanted to put my own spin on it. Ottawa bolsters their Defensive depth and goaltending, while bringing in some quality future assets. Turn around and further strengthen the blueline defensively by acquiring Tanev. In the offseason they can address the forwards, depth and find a Coach.

Losing Chychrun really stinks, but I think there's a fairly strong argument that this blueline is better than Ottawa's current one. Could also look for an upgrade on Brannstrom this summer if they move him at the deadline.

Additional Details:
My take on the trade. Both teams give up another asset to bring the value closer to even imo. I think I like the base concept of the deal. Logan Thompson is a solid NHL goalie, who may yet prove himself a starter, and Whitecloud is a very solid 3RD who could be a 2nd pair guy in a pinch. Balance the rest with picks and prospects.
2.
OTT
  1. Tanev, Christopher
Additional Details:
Assuming Ottawa would actually be able to keep him.
CGY
  1. Thomson, Lassi
  2. 2024 2nd round pick (OTT)

I probably take that if I'm Ottawa. Not sure if Vegas does tho

Too much for Tanev. Not a good fit for the team imo age wise.

Tanev to OTT won't be a good fit.
I believe Tanev wants to go to a playoff team (eg: TOR, VCR, TBL, etc).

I too would pass on Tanev , he would be better suited for a contender. I would like to see Kleven and Guenette get some reps the last 30 games , need to understand if one or both could possibly step up next year.
