Description
Younger, moving money around. I mean this roster is eerily similar to this seasons team

Top line similar, younger, more speed and the same offensively. 2nd line is the only downgrade. 3rd line is similar and 4th line is way better. Our defense this year has been worse than this since its been hurt so much. And Sorokin will be better next season, we will sign a good 3rd goalie who can replace Samsonov if hurt.

Plus, we are WAY younger here. This is a squad that looks promising plus we will have a top 15 pick (NYI, 2024) plus another 1st from the Nelson trade and other early to mid picks elsewhere. Now its a roster that has upside for the future.

My NUMBER ONE hope for this summer is to have an entirely new 4th line. Martin and Clutter long gone and hopefully Cizikas too

    Cizikas has been solid this year, but why are we paying 2.5 for a 4C?
    Pageau is similar. He will score 30, just not with us.

    Fasching is a dog, but he needs to go somewhere else too

    Palms has been good this year but I want to get young. He could fetch a 2nd with some retention and id wanna jump on that

    Pelech and Pulock. Good AAV, too long. Always hurt. So simple

    Varly deserves to be in a tandem somewhere. If he wants out, let him

    Brock is very good but he is the only valuable asset we could move (1st+ more in return)

    Would love Pulock, but Ottawa isn't trading Pinto. If anything, Ottawa would move one of Chabot/Chychrun and parlay that return into a Pulock trade.

    Only thing I know is Pinto has a lot of family in NYC and Long Island and he is a pending RFA. Obviously moving on from a young, promising center is never ideal but if there is a world where he could be moved at the right price, id imagine NYI would be in on him

    If we decided to trade him, the Islanders would be a good target because of what you said and also because they have good pieces that I'd want.

    But in reality it makes no sense for Ottawa to trade Pinto.

    These are the players that could conceivably be traded in the next year or so:

    Thomas Chabot/Jakob Chychrun (one or the other)
    Vladimir Tarasenko
    Dominik Kubalik
    Erik Brannstrom
    Anton Forsberg

    That's about it imo, I'd be open to moving Norris for the right package but idk if the team would.
