Description
Every player on LTIR is either traded for assets or let go in FA. This team should arguably be ready to compete for a cup in 2027-2028

Now I think every trade is a possibility and the value is within reason. The only "hurdle" would be Pettersson OS. I think the Canucks may match any offer, so you could replace Pettersson with one of the top 5 forward prospects in 2025 or a FA signing.

Cap should be rising every year so resigning the ELCs shouldnt be an issue. The whole 3rd line would be on bridge deals. Id resign Guhle and Slaf to cheaper long term deals in the summer of 2024. While Hutson and Clarke can either get bridge deals or long term deals depending on their play and cap situation. So starting in 2027, youll have about 5 years of this roster until big paydays come in. At that point, Jones will be out of a deal so you let him walk, and Suzuki probably resigns for around the same or even less (kinda like Bergeron did). Even then using the picks they acquire for Harris, Matheson, Savard, etc, they should be able to replenish the prospect cupboard and in 2029 they get 1st their own 1st rounders. Realistically, if done right, should be a core of about 10-15 years until a large scale rebuild is needed. Hopefully a few cups in that era as well.

I dont think they do. Clarke is more than NHL ready rn and they dont use him. They are currently ruining their best prospect. So instead they get a guy a tier below , but gain a top 25 pick, a top 9 winger prospect and some Dev time for their team.

The Kings are not ruining him. He's 20 years old, and still very raw defensively. He will be an exceptional player in the NHL, but he's still not ready yet. His offensive instincts are great, but his defense needs a lot of work.

Everyone said the same thing about Byfield for the last several years. The Kings took their time with him and now he's one of the single best players on the team.

Clarke is going to be a fixture on the Kings' blue line for the better part of 2 decades. They will not trade him.

Clarke has accumulated four more regular season games in the AHL over the past two seasons than he played regular season games in the OHL last year. How you define that as ruining a prospect is beyond reason.

Edmonton likewise emphatically declines. Neither Monahan nor Kovacevic are addressing a need for the Oilers and they don't have the cap space to take on both players. Likewise I think Montreal is going to be hard-pressed to find a first rounder being returned for Monahan despite the optimism of Canadiens fans. Third line centers went for a second round pick at last year's deadline. If someone offers a second and a B-prospect, they'd be wise to take it.

Seth Jones doesn't waive for Canada, Especially not Montreal.

LA isn't trading Brandt Clarke, He's untouchable as they come right now.

And oh FYI, Offer Sheets can only be 20% off the current salary cap, So you can only offer Elias Pettersson $17,540,000 on an offer sheet not a penny more.
