    Reasoning for Kunitz trade is that Calgary's LW depth is terrible and Kunitz theoretically fits the team mantra. Jooris is a nice hardworking player. Draft pick can be downgraded or taken away if necessary.
    After Foligno and Atkinson (who seems to be on the way out) CBJ is weak on the right side, and Hornqvist would thrive in Columbus. Rychel is hopefully a longterm top-six power-forward who would be perfect to replace Kunitz on the left side. Pens downgrade the goalie prospect to even things out a bit. Draft pick or prospect can be added if needed.

    Boedker UFA signing is pretty huge, gives the Pens wing balance, Crosby a speedy defensively sound LW, and also experience on the left side. If Sundqvist thrives trade Bonino or Fehr and slot Rust in at LW.

    Scuderi buyout needs no explanation. Gunnarsson signing isn't fantastic but provides a much-needed defensive presence without having to sign a retirement contract above 5 million.
