I don't know much about Dougherty, but I would guess that Brassard would command more in return than just him

Dougherty is a former first round pick. The NYR need to start re-stocking their prospect pool. Dougherty is a right handed D that could possible play one day with B. Skei.

I have no problem with them restocking the pool but I wouldn't trade him straight up for a prospect. Nashville would have to add another piece to this for me to ever consider if I'm Rangers management

I like the idea of moving Nash for Shattenkirk. Nash is a quality player but in the big games he falls asleep and stays on the perimeter. If not for Zuccarello I'm not sure he would have half the points he has so far. If i could choose i would move Stepan over Brassard. Brassard is on a better contract and has excellent chemistry with Zuc. Stepan does a lot of little things well but by no means is an impact player/gamechanger. Stepan also has never really generated too much chemistry with anyone. I guess you could make the case for Kreider but that's not even close to the Zucc/Brass tandem. Obviously if the rangers can make room to sign Stamkos or Kopitar I would be pretty excited... just don't think it's going to happen. I believe we are locked in with Brassard and Stepan as our top 2 Centers for the next few years at least.

It was a toss up between Brasard and Stephan. Stephan just plays a better 2 way game than Brassard. That said, I am not a Stephan fan. He is weak in the FO circle and has a horrible one-timer.
