Ty Smith is not worth three picks, and the Ducks have three LHD studs entering the AHL, there's no reason to acquire him at all.

I also don't see Colorado doing that deal, they are real light at their RHD depth chart.

I suspect neither of the UFA's sign those deals, but those are the two targets.

Ty Smith is worth the future third. What do the seconds have to do with anything? Obviously, you yourself don't think much of him, since you're giving him only $1 million.

Ryan Merkley didn't play in the NHL this season. Nevertheless, I don't think that Colorado would trade him for the reason set forth by my friend Giggy, so both teams would decline.

I'm sure that we'll offer Ryan Graves $5 million and Dumba at least four, and no matter where they sign, I'll bet that both get five-year deals.

Avs aren't that attached to Merkley now that they have Malinski. The real question is how much they like Comtois, and what does his contract look like?

Pens don't need to move Smith. They were really happy with his progress last season and he has a spot open for him on the NHL roster this year. They should take advantage of his cost control.

Yeah, after reading through the thread, I got rid of that trade cause it made no sense when looking back on it. Zellweger and LaCombe basically cover Smith as a player. I think Colorado doesn't really care to keep Merkly, they have no real attachment to him from what I see, but I could be wrong.
