A lot of the values are WAY off. Cogliano did not thrive in Edmonton and I doubt he wants to go back to a place where he lacked success. Not to mention he is not taking a 1,750,000 pay cut. If anything he is getting a raise not making less money. Maroon will get more than 500,000 after the production he has put up, granted it is with McDavid, but still he is a UFA and a lot of UFA's tend to get overpaid. Stepniak should get more. Talbot can easily get more as a UFA. I'm sure a number of teams will be willing to pay him good money. He is probably looking at a contract similar to Jones. Draisaitl easily gets more. Just face it the Oilers will likely have cap issues, as all Cup Contenders do, and many players are being underpaid.

What is your rationale behind paying Nurse twice what you're paying Benning?

Nurse is getting long term commitment and Benning is on a bridge deal

i just wanna know what leverage Draisaitl has to command more than that. please explain to me where i as gm, would get off paying my second line centre more than 6.75M per year. if you want to go into "hes a 1st line winger land" why would i give a winger more money than that? cant win with wingers making money, its the least important position in hockey and teams who pay wingers HUGE money (Washington/Chicago/Dallas/StLouis etc) cant win cups
