2024 Roster

Two things:
1. the Canucks management are too stupid to take this trade...but they should.
2. Jason Zucker 5 years x $5M?? NNNoooooooooo!!!!

Nope. Not even close. Canucks would rather keep him.

A 30 year old winger who is on pace for 25 goals and plays a hard nose game. Rust got 5x6. Granted he has stayed healthier. On the open market Zucker makes 5x5. Perhaps he takes a discount so 4x5 but some people on here suggesting Zucker at 3.5MM for 3 years are crazy.

Would they? They're a rebuilding team with a fairly young roster. They need to trade OEL and Miller to speed up the rebuild. OELs contract is unmovable but Miller's isn't. Get a top 4 D on a good contract and some picks.

He's 31, and would turn 32 in the first year of this 5 year deal, and his best days are definitely behind him. It wouldn't age well. I'd do $5M x 3 years max, but you're right, on the open market, someone might pay that in a thin Free Agent class, but it would be a mistake.
