Thats a lot for Hughes considering we are taking Meyers. Why not toss in another 1st and we can take OEL as well since we seem to be paying for cap dumps.

Well, I figure if the Canucks are going to trade Hughes, they’re going to want at least 2 first round picks with one of them being a top 10 pick. Since I’m not sending them a top 10 pick, I took Myers back to offset the difference in draft position. Huge difference between an 8th overall pick for example and the 25th pick.

Truthfully, I think Vancouver declines this deal.

Yeah I figured with the title I'd go for humor instead of being serious. But honestly I wouldn't trade Bertuzzi in division for that.

I’m glad my title effectively communicated how unlikely I think this is.

We would be very fortunate to get this return for Bertuzzi. It’s only a matter of time before he gets his game back but, He has looked extremely in his first two games back and I think a B+ it better prospect and any 2023 1st round pick would be a major win.

Also, trading within the division would be more significant if the player had term. He doesn’t, and we won’t be competing with them for the postseason, so there really isn’t any merit to that unless he extends.
