Description
This is the third attempt to make a Seattle roster by deadline. For those who haven't seen the first two attempts, I won't make you, I'm a random person on the internet, not your dad, so here's how this works:
Seattle is surprisingly good (don't act like you knew this would happen), and it makes you question if they could even contend this year, because as is, they'll probably get as far as the Leafs in a playoff series. This doesn't mean Seattle should force anything at the deadline, the only player old enough that you'd expect stagnation or regression from is Eberle, and that isn't the end of the world for this team, but it still begs the question that if this team was to do something at the deadline, what would it be? I also have been taking the comments on the previous posts and try to use them to update the offers to see if I can make a completely realistic roster.
Trades
1.
SEA
  1. Gibson, John
  2. 2023 5th round pick (ANA)
Additional Details:
This trade seems to be pretty balanced on both fronts, with both teams getting something to fit their cause, with Seattle getting a proper starting goalie and the Ducks taking advantage of Grubauer's contract by milking draft picks and a quality prospect. I don't think there'll be any notable changes to this one.
ANA
  1. Evans, Ryker
  2. Grubauer, Philipp
  3. 2023 1st round pick (SEA)
  4. 2023 3rd round pick (SEA)
  5. 2023 4th round pick (COL)
2.
SEA
  1. O'Reilly, Ryan
Additional Details:
Even though the trade might not go through because of the return, O'Reilly would be a great fit for this team. He's both more experienced and higher caliber than Wennberg, which I think is exactly what this team needs. An O'Reilly/Beniers center duo sounds lethal and I think O'Reilly would be incredible for this team's short term success
STL
  1. Donskoi, Joonas
  2. Robertson, Tucker [Reserve List]
  3. Wennberg, Alexander
  4. 2023 2nd round pick (WPG)
Additional Details:
I know this is a terrible trade that St. Louis would not accept 10 times out of 10, but the framework is here for the most part. A prospect, a replacment center on the 3rd line, and a 2nd round pick, with Donskoi being moved to make the money work. The pieces work on paper, but I feel there's still something about this trade that's lacking.

If the Blues can’t get a first round pick for O’Reilly than nobody can get a first round pick for anybody

That is a framework for the trash bin, nothing else. You're not even remotely close. Jupiter is closer to Seattle than this offer is to getting O'Reilly.
