Hughes also doesn't want to operate in LTIR which is why he made the Weber trade. MTL has $5M in potential performance bonuses which could become overages for 2023-24.

And all the comments on how the Habs would have to retain salary or add draft picks to move contracts…yet magically our players have way more trade value than most of the capfriendly commentariat believe…

Schedule B bonuses for Slafkovsky aren’t a thing. Our cap situation is fine. Don’t be surprised if Price finds his way on LTIR at the deadline any year that we’re in the mix and we are able to add $10.5mm worth of players at the deadline while he also finds he way healthy (and rested) to start the playoffs.
